Should you paint your Minneapolis home before putting it on the market? Now this is a really good question. It’s pretty much common sense to most people, but it’s still a really good question.
Quick answer: If you haven’t had your home painted in the last five years or if there’s any flaking on your home’s interior or exterior, then I would definitely recommend you investing in a fresh coat of paint for both the inside and the outside.
You have to remember that when a new buyer comes into your house, they are looking for a “new home.” Their “new home.” They don’t want it to appear “used.” They want a brand new home.
It isn’t a new home, and the buyer knows that, but if you can make every attempt to make it look “new,” then that increases your chance at a sale. So the best return on investment when listing and selling your home is paint. Paint, paint, paint. You can’t paint enough. And so, yeah, you may not want to spend the money, but in the end, you’ll increase your potential return. Investing in paint is a good idea.
